New Orford String Quartet
March 2, 3:30pm
Admission by freewill offering at the door.
($30-$40 suggested)
Featuring principal players from the Toronto and Montreal Symphony Orchestras, one of Canada’s finest chamber groups brings a program including Schubert's Death and the Maiden and music by Mozart and Ian Cusson.

Duruflé Requiem

$30 | $10 children/students/arts workersThe professional Choir of St. John's Elora and Jurgen Petrenko, organist, perform Maurice Duruflé's 20th century masterwork, Requiem, alongside other choral works. Showcasing the newly expanded and colourful organ at St. John’s. Celebrate the end of the season with us.

Tickets are sent by email. Bring yours to show at the door. All tickets are refundable or exchangeable.

Bach Meditations—Cantata 23 "Du wahrer Gott und Davids Sohn"
SUNDAY, JANUARY 19, 3:15PM | c. 45 minutes
The Choir of St. John’s Elora, with step-out soloists and period instrument ensemble, present one of Bach’s most beautiful pre-Lenten cantatas, parts of which he later used for a version of his St. John Passion. This event includes commentary on the music and text, followed by a performance.

To the Moon and Back: "Frauen-Liebe und Leben" and other songs of celestial love

St. John's very own Autumn Debassige with Angus Sinclair, piano, present Schumann’s immortal song cycle alongside other cosmic and valentine-y fare. A delightful afternoon of light and loveable music.

Hymn Sing @ 150!
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2PM
Celebrate 150 years of music and worship at St. John’s Elora with this festive hymn sing. Interested singers can sign up in advance to participate in a mass choir piece, or just show up and lend your voice to the hymns. With Tom Bell, guest emcee, Patrick Murray, director of music, and Jurgen Petrenko, organist.

Jazz Meets Classical

Xueao Yang, violinist from the KW Symphony, and pianist Felix Hong present a fiery program of music inspired by both jazz and classical idioms. Featuring music by Gershwin, Prokofiev, Schnittke, and more. -
Art Song Recital: Paul Genyk-Berezowsky

St. John’s own Paul Genyk-Berezowsky offers a recital of art songs by Quilter, Schumann, and Duparc. -

KW Symphony Associate Concertmaster Jung Tsai returns to St. John’s with pianist Jui-Sheng Li presenting American composer John Corigliano’s virtuosic Violin Sonata and other American works.
